Report on the 2nd Circle Conference of SNPWA, Assam Circle

It is with immense pride and heartfelt appreciation that we present this report on the successful culmination of the 2nd Circle Conference of SNPWA, Assam Circle, held on 4th April 2025 at Guwahati.
At the very outset, on behalf of SNPWA, Assam Circle, we express our deepest gratitude to all our respected members, delegates, and well-wishers for their overwhelming support, active involvement, and continued cooperation, which made this event a grand success. The entire event reflected the unity, vibrancy, and commitment of our organization.
We are especially grateful to our CHQ President, Com. K.D. Sebastian, and General Secretary, Com. G.L. Jogi, two stalwarts of the Indian Trade Union movement. Their gracious presence and inspiring addresses were the highlights of the day. Their motivational words, rich experience, and vision have rekindled our collective resolve to serve our members with renewed energy and commitment.
The delegate session saw engaging discussions, valuable suggestions, and thoughtful contributions from members representing different SSAs of Assam. It provided a platform to reflect on the achievements, challenges, and future roadmap of SNPWA in the state.
Before the commencement of the cultural programme, a brief yet highly informative presentation on cardiological disorders was delivered by eminent cardiologist Dr. Apurba Sarma. The session drew enthusiastic participation from a large number of members, who engaged in direct interactions with Dr. Sarma. His expert insights and practical advice on various types of heart attacks and cardiac care proved immensely beneficial to the attendees. We are especially thankful to our Circle Secretary, Com. Arijit Roy Prodhani, for taking the initiative to organize this valuable and timely health awareness session.
Following this, as per tradition, felicitation and distribution of prizes took place among the winners of the Online Art Competition, which was organized by SNPWA, Assam Circle on 15th March 2025. The young participants showcased remarkable creativity and talent, making us all proud.
Continuing with our existing practice of honoring academic and professional excellence, this year too, the wards of our members were felicitated for their outstanding achievements in diverse fields such as Medical, Engineering, and even Film Production. Their accomplishments stand as a testimony to the values of dedication and excellence we collectively uphold.
The day’s events were further enriched by a vibrant cultural programme, presented by our own talented members. The performances—ranging from music and dance to poetic recitations—added warmth and joy to the occasion, making the evening truly memorable. It was a celebration not only of our organizational achievements but also of our cultural heritage and unity.
One of the most significant outcomes of the conference was the formation of a new Circle Body for the next three-year term (2025–26 to 2027–28). In the presence of our CHQ President, General Secretary, and a large gathering of delegates, a 22-member Circle Committee was unanimously elected, symbolizing a strong collective mandate and confidence.
We are confident that this newly elected body, with a strong and diverse team, will shoulder the responsibility with utmost sincerity and diligence. They are committed to working transparently, ensuring member welfare, and promoting the values that SNPWA stands for.
As we draw the curtains on this remarkable event, we once again extend our sincere thanks to all members for their unwavering faith, whole-hearted support, and enthusiastic participation. Your trust inspires us to work harder and with greater passion for the betterment of our association.
